Fundraising

Young volunteers
ReadiBus has been grateful to work with local young people, who have been fundraising and volunteering via NCS with ReadiBus over the last year. The volunteers have put on a number of inter-generational lunches and campaigned in Reading town centre about older age and mobility restriction. In the pictures you can see the fierce competition during a game of Trivial Pursuits!

Reading Armed Force's Day 2016
ReadiBus was at the Reading Armed Force's Day in 2016 as one of the Mayor's charities this year. Despite the downpour, volunteers staffed ReadiBus' information and fundraising stall until the end, when there was a fantastic display from the Waterloo Band of the Rifles and a badge presentation for veterans.

Reading Water Fest
ReadiBus volunteers staff a stall at the Reading Water Fest, providing information to passers by on the service and selling ReadiBus merchandise. Lots of people comment on their own personal links with ReadiBus and are impressed to hear that ReadiBus serves over 3,200 people across Berkshire.

Mayor's Charity 2016-2017
ReadiBus was delighted to have been chosen as one of Reading Mayor's Charities of the Year in 2016-2017. The Rt Worshipful Mayor of Reading for 2016-2017, Cllr Mohammad Ayub, has been invovled with ReadiBus for many years and supported fundraising events and activities for ReadiBus during his year as mayor.

Reading Half Marathon
Steve R, Steve H and Harriet ran for ReadiBus in 2016 (Steve R's 15th run for ReadiBus!). There was good weather and good cheer on the day and 10 enthusiastic ReadiBus supporters volunteered to help marshal the event. A great day all round.

SAS International donation
SAS International’s Reading office had great fun fundraising for ReadiBus in the run up to Christmas, setting up office raffles, Christmas jumper days and more.

Christmas knitting stall
ReadiBus passengers, staff and supporters set up and staffed a knitting stall at Woodley Christmas Extravaganza on 6th December. Six keen knitters donated items to sell, including tinsel hedgehogs, reindeer cup-holders and tree decorations. What a wonderful sight!

Christmas appeal
Thank you to ReadiBus passengers and supporters who were extremely generous in their response to the Christmas appeal for donations towards the service. Your support is greatly appreciated.
